Rendezvous India
Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts International has entered an exciting new phase of our rapid expansion with the announcement of a joint venture agreement with Chennai based Indian developer XS Real Properties.
The joint venture company called Rendezvous India Hospitality Private Limited will manage hotels and resorts in the emerging Indian market.
With an estimated 150,000 additional hotel rooms required in India, Rendezvous India will form part of our growth strategy and will be facilitated by XS Real Properties who have been a prominent property developer in the region since 1995.
The joint venture comes at a perfect time with such a shortage in mid range accommodation the introduction of Rendezvous and Marque will assist address the needs of this market. It also fits perfectly into the structure and strategy for RHI's growth and development for 2009 and beyond and complements our recently announced move into the Middle East.

Patrick Sheehan, Chief Executive Pat Sheehan was appointed Chief Executive, India in December 2008. Pat has worked with Rendezvous since February 2005 in the roles of Senior Vice President Operations Australia & New Zealand and Senior Vice President Human Resources. Prior to Rendezvous, Pat has worked in executive roles with other international hotel groups. He has also held senior roles with leading consulting houses including Regional Manager Queensland for Newton Consulting Group, and Manager Training Division for the John Clements Group. Pat holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from University of the Sunshine Coast, a Bachelor Degree in Applied Science (Applied Psychology) from University of Southern Queensland and a Diploma of Teaching from Brisbane College of Advanced Education.

Prem Joseph, Vice President Development Prem Joseph was appointed Vice President Development, India in December 2008. Prem has more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry in India working in senior management positions for several prominent hotel groups. Prem holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Amrita Institute of Management, Coimbatore and a Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management from Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management, Mangalore University. |
